How do physiotherapist get back to fitness after pregnancy

” I suffered from a large rectus diastisis (abdominal separation) after having my twins and have worked hard on core strengthening Pilates Exercises. If done correctly with good positioning these are very effective in strengthening the abdominal core muscles again.”

Our Women’s Health Physio, Sarah’s 15-min workout to lose her baby weight

A big challenge living in Singapore after starting a family has been to find time for myself to ‘get fit’ again. Not always having much time I have tried to focus on a couple of outdoor cardiovascular sessions of cycling or running and then a few bodyweights resisted strengthening exercises. I have tried hard to maintain good posture, to relieve back pain and speed up the recovery after delivery.

Check out these 6 simple exercises for losing belly weight that I have completed each for 1 min and performed 3 sets, 3 times a week.

1. TRICEP DIPS

2. BRIDGING

3. SINGLE LEG DIPS WITH CORE ACTIVATION

4. SINGLE LEG SQUAT WITH BACKWARD LEG CROSS OVER

5. STEP UP WITH ROTATION

6. STAR JUMP
