Clinical Pilates for Rehabilitation

Pilates and core strength exercises condition the body, and helps build control and strength in your core muscles. These muscles are deep abdominal and back muscles that help to support the spine and give a good base to work with. Core strength and pilates is important for correct movement patterns, and for injury prevention.

Pilates/Core strength work can:

  • Reduce and prevent spinal pain
  • Improve core strength and stabilisation
  • Improve spinal and peripheral mobility and flexibility
  • Increase body awareness
  • Improve posture
  • Improve coordination and balance
  • Focus on the quality of movement and improve movement patterns

This may include mat work, reformer work, fitball, balance boards, resistance bands, and weights all under the guidance of our physiotherapist according to your needs based on your assessment. This will be incorporated into a routine for you for home, or for the gym and keep you actively involved in your rehabilitation and recovery.
